Police have started investigating into the Monday night bombing incident at Chandini Chowk here but were on Tuesday still clueless about the assailants or their motives.
At around 11.50 pm on Monday, a low-intensity cracker bomb exploded just outside the house of Cuttack Central Cooperative Bank president Birendra Pratap Swain which, however, caused no damage to any life or property.
Birendra is the elder brother of former Minister Ranendra Pratap alias Raja Swain, who is now ruling BJD MlA from the neighbouring Athagarh constituency. “We have registered a case and are investigating into the incident,” said Cuttack city DCP Sanjeeb Arora, adding that CCTV footages of cameras installed nearby are now being verified.
