The East Coast Railway Promotee Officers’ Association organised its annual general body meeting here. The two-day meet was attended by the IRPOF advisor and president. Besides, all officers of East Coast Railway headquarters and delegates from three divisions attended the meeting.
IRPOF advisor Jitendra Singh expressed resentment of the members on various issues including career prospects of the employees.
Singh lamented that the DPC for promoting to Group-‘A’ from Group-‘B’ is delayed badly from last three years. As per recruitment policy, junior time scale posts are filled up by filling up of 50% vacancy by Promotee Officers and 50% through direct recruitment but the Railway Board is not following it, Singh alleged.
Miscellaneous category like ANO, AHO, PS, PRO etc are not having any definite career prospect, he lamented. Besides, he stated that DPC of the Education Department has not been conducted for last 35 years, while Group-‘B’ officers of Engineering, Personnel and Accounts departments are the worst sufferer as they have to work in one grade for more than a decade. Singh demanded that the two categories of officers like direct recruitment and promotee be done away with.
The association also held its election. Jl Jena, Deputy CCM, was elected as president and MM Pattanayak, Deputy CSO(Tfc), was reelected as general secretary. Besides, the other elected members are working president SK Sahoo, vice presidents SK Rout, AK Taldi, J Atchi Babu, organising secretaries SP Mishra, KC Gouda, Urmila Das, DN Pradhan and joint general secretaries SS Behara, SK Acharya and Dibakar Mishra.
