Queue system at Shreemandir from today

PNS

A queue system for darshan of the deities at the Shree Jagannath Temple here would be implemented on an experimental basis from October 1.

This is being done as per the suggestions by the Supreme Court for reforms in the temple.

As per the new system, devotees would form a queue at the Singhadwar and move in to the temple through barricades. After having darshan, they would exit through the Uttardwar. There would be separate barricades for men and women.

Infrastructural work for the queue system has already been initiated by the Shree Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA). Drilling is underway on the Baisi Pahacha to instal iron railings for forming barricades.

On the other hand, several devotees have expressed displeasure over the drilling work on the Baisi Pahacha saying it would hurt the religious sentiments of people.
