Puri experienced noisy scenes as various party candidates along with their supporters proceeded to the Returning Officer’s office to file their nomination papers on Tuesday.
lalatendu Bidyadhar Mahapatra of the Congress and Sanjay Dasburma of the BJD filed their nominations for the Brahmagiri Assembly seat while Pradeep Maharathy of the BJD filed his papers for the Pipili Assembly seat. Former Congress Minister Rabindranath Sethy filed his nominations for the Kakatpur (SC) constituency.
The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) fielded Nirad Baran Khuntia as its candidate for the Puri lok Sabha seat while Adiyahruday Mishra and Prafulla Mishra jumped into fray as the AAP candidates for the Puri and Nimapara Assembly seats, respectively. Ashok Kumar Pradhan of the CPI and Bhasker Chandra Mohanty of the BSP filed their papers for the Puri lok Sabha seat. Besides, Uma Samantray and Omprakash Mishra filed their papers for the Satyabadi Assembly seat as Independent candidates.
