In what may be called as a contrasting buzzword flourishing on the tongue of a top seer who is well known for his hard line stand on Hinduism, Puri Sankaracharya Nischalananda Saraswati uttered ‘Mubarak’ to a Muslim girl who put him a question on ‘god and sin’ in a congregation in Andhra Pradesh.
The anxious girl stood up and with great respect asked her question to which Saraswati explained with an example. But pleased over the question, the seer reciprocated the girl with ‘Mubarak’.
“It is good question and let me answer you. You took name of Allah and Khuda and I convey you Mubarak,” said Saraswati to the girl who stood covering her head with a cloth as per her custom. After getting the reply, the girl was satisfied and took her seat with a smile. The video of the religious event held in Monikonda of Andhra Pradesh where Saraswati was present as an invitee went viral on YouTube channel.
Reportedly, Saraswati was delivering a lecture and replying to questions put by the audience on various conflicts relating to religion. People across religions and faiths were present.
The girl, identified as Kamar Fathima (18), asked, “All are telling that not a leaf is moving without a wish of god. I want to know why men are committing sin and if it is a wish of god?”
The seer replied citing an example of electricity which works differently at different machines when it is applied. Saraswati explained the same electricity gives cold when it is charged to a cooler and also heat when it is applied to a heater.
Equating electricity with god, the Puri seer told that machines cannot function on their own. But they do different functions once they are charged with current. Likewise, it is up to men to decide the nature of works they want to do and accordingly seek their results from God, Saraswati told.
