The district administration on Tuesday seized the Grand Motor Filling Station located along the Grand Road near the Hospital Square here following allegations of tampering of the electronic fuel measurement meter and cheating consumers.

According to a complaint made by senior journalist Jagannath Bastia, he went to the filling station on Tuesday and paid Rs 250 for petrol in his scooty.

He suspected that the quantum of petrol against the money though reflected in the meter was less. He complained the matter to the owner of the pump. The owner came and the petrol was drained from the scooty into a measurement pot and it was found that the quantity was less by two litres.

The matter was informed to State Civil Supplies Department Secretary Madhusudan Padhi, who asked the local Civil Supplies Officer and the District Magistrate to take action.
