A written complaint filed with Puri Sadar police station on Sunday by one Aru Mallick of Bauribasta village near Brahmagiri alleged that his married daughter of four children was sold at a cost of Rs 55,000 to one Dhusa Singh of Madhya Pradesh.

Giving his daughter a false hope of good job, three women labourers lured her from a worksite at Puri to MP and sold to Singh of Janata village near the Ashok Nagar railway station, revealed the complainant.

Even Mallick said his daughter is presently trapped in MP after married off to the person by force.

Apprehending that her life is at stake there, the complainant urged the police to rescue her along with a handicapped girl child living with her.

Sources said Daudi Mallick, the daughter of the complainant, was living in Puri Baliapanda Basti with husband Daku Mallick for last 15 years. They have four children with last being a handicapped girl child.

Daku works as daily wager. The problem arose when Daku further married to another woman and is living with her in the same house.

After the remarriage, he started to torture Daudi.

According to the statement of Daudi’s mother Rama, in the mean time, three women labourers who were working with Daudi coming from the same Baliapanda Basti mislead her daughter on promise of good job in Madhya Pradesh.

She said Daudi told them over mobile phone about her condition and wanted to be rescued. Rama also charged that when they reached MP and tried to rescue their daughter, they were attacked.
