Pujari fails to defed citadel in Subarnapur

PNS

In the second phase of the panchayat elections on Wednesday, the BJP won two out of three Zilla Parishad (ZP) seats and breached the citadel of the BJD under Dunguripali block in Subarnapur district.

Reversing the trend of the first phase of the polls in the district, where the BJD had won Tarbha ZP Zone 1 and 2 in the first phase, the BJP won in Dunguripali ZP Zone 1 and 2, while the BJD had to remain satisfied with just Dunguripali Zone 3.

This has hit hard Sonepur BJD MlA and Speaker of State Assembly Niranjan Pujari, who spearheaded the party’s campaign from behind the scenes.

The trend is an indication that people are venting their anger against the ruling party over failure in delivering good governance and bring about visible change in the district, opined political observers.
