In another development, the trench dug by the administration for construction of boundary wall for the proposed Posco steel project was destroyed by the anti Posco brigade Posco Pratirodha Sangram Samiti (PPSS).
Amidst low-scale protests, the land acquisition by district administration is going on in the proposed Posco project villages. On Friday, the administration demolished seven betel vines and paid compensation of Rs 13.22 lakh. Similarly, 286 trees were cut and Rs 4.45 lakh was paid as compensation to the beneficiaries.
