An inquiry into the pilferage and misappropriation of kerosene in Karngamal panchayat of Beden block, as alleged by local Congress MLA Adhiraj Panigrahi, has been initiated by the Nuapada district administration.
Sub-Collector Taranisen Naik visited the block on Friday to know about the details of stock issued and agents involved in distribution.
"Enquiry is going on, but initial findings reveal that the Maa Dwarasuni SHG engaged for distribution of kerosene in Karangamal GP is at fault," replied the Sub-Collector to a WhatsApp query of this correspondent.
He further revealed that the SHG has lifted the stock twice during the entire year. So, if people have not received their quota, it means this group is at fault. The administration has assured a detailed investigation into the allegation.
