More than 15 unauthorised expanded shops, signboards and temporary vendors doing their business in and outside the Priyadarsini Market complex and also at CRP square were demolished on Thursday.
The eviction drive was conducted jointly by the Bhubaneswar Development Authority (BDA), the Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) and the General Administration department. The eviction drive was carried out in order to avoid heavy traffic problem at two sites.
Currently, the joint enforcement squad of the BDA, BMC and GA department under the direct supervision of nodal officer Debaprasad Dash is conducting regular eviction drive across the capital city to make the pilgrim city free from encroachments.
