BJP MLA Jayanarayan Mishra on Wednesday brought a privilege notice against Excise Minister Niranjan Pujari alleging that he misled the House furnishing untrue data
regarding opening of liquor shops in the State since
2006. On July 22, while replying to a question pub by Opposition Chief Whip Mohan Majhi in the House,
Pujari had said that no liquor shop had been opened in the State since 2006, said
Mishra.
He requested Speaker Surjya Narayan Patro to send the matter to the Privilege Committee for action.
Mishra said he has a detailed data on the number of liquor shops opened in the State in the last 12 years.In response, the Speaker said he is examining the notice.
