Even as Biju Patnaik Homoeopathic Medical College students continued staging dharna demanding fulfilment of their all demands, College Principal Dr Nivedita Dash took a four-day leave on Saturday, much to the displeasure of the students.

Now, Dr Nivedita Sahu is managing affairs as the Acting Principal of the college.

Though an Indoor Department has already been launched yet students have insisted on fulfilment of all other demands, including appointment of adequate numbers of teaching and nonteaching staffs.

Meanwhile, MlA Ramesh Chandra Chyaupatnaik has stated that a meeting would be held under chairmanship of the district Collector to resolve various problems of the college before reopening of the college after the current vacation.

The students have decided to take next course of action on November 15 when the college will reopen. Notably, the students have been staging stir demanding adequate infrastructure and appointment of faculties so that the college would get permission from concerned Central authorities to undertake admissions into BHMS seats.
