The President’s Medal for the year 2015 will be bestowed on five jail officials from Odisha for their remarkable contributions to jail reforms.
While Rabindranath Barik, Assistant Jailor of Jagatsinghpur Sub-Jail will receive the President’s Correctional Service Medal for Distinguished Service, four other jail officials, Subhakanta Mishra, Jailor-cum-Superintendent, Titilagarh Sub-Jail, Satyaprakash Swain, Jailor, Dhenkanal District Jail, Subash Chandra Pradhan, District Probation
Officer, Dhenkanal and Surendra Kumar Barik, Assistant Jailor, Barbil Sub Jail will receive the medal for Meritorious Service.
Notably, three more prison personnel have been nominated for the President’s Correctional Service Medal for Distinguished Service and 23 jail officials have been selected for the President’s Medal for Meritorious Service from across the country.
Apart from this, Home Department Special secretary lalit Das and Inspector General Debasis Panigrahi have been selected for the President’s Police Medal.
The awards will be presented during the Republic Day celebrations in New Delhi.
