The Utkal Sammilani has urged the Home Department to bring a Bill to declare the song “Bande Utkala Janani” as the State Anthem in the State Assembly session starting on Tuesday.
Sammilani Mancheswar branch president Dillip Dashsharma said it has been demanded to make the song as the State Anthem since 1994 and the Utkal Sammilani has been fighting for it.
He said that since 24 years, discussions have been held in the State Assembly and by the Culture Department to make the famous inspiring song as the State Anthem, but the proposal has still been confined to the table of the Home Department.
