The Government is spending crores of rupees on the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana, but people of this backward district are facing odds due to muddy roads. In a case at Garjharia in Chandahadni block, a pregnant woman give birth midway to hospital as an ambulance could not reach her village due to bad road.
Nabina, wife of Meheswar Santa, of the village complained of labour pain on Wednesday. Her family members called 102 ambulance over phone, but due to the deplorable condition of the road, the ambulance couldn’t reach. Finally, the woman was carried on a cot for around 2 km. Midway, she gave birth to a girl.The mother and the newborn were later taken to the CHC, Chandahandi.
