A six months’ pregnant minor girl here has alleged that she was gangraped several times by fellow village youths.
Pattamundai police have registered a case against two youths in the case and launched a probe. The accused are yet to be nabbed.
“After blackmailing her on the pretext of circulating her nude photos in public and also luring her with a promise of marriage, the two youths sexually exploited the girl for over a year and the result being she is six months’ pregnant now,” said Pattamundai police station IIC Baruni Das. According to the police the girl is 17-year-old and the culprits were identified as Debashis Mohanty and Dushmant Mohanty. The matter came to the fore when the mother of the minor girl discovered her daughter’s pregnancy.
The victim alleged that the duo youths allegedly kept physical relationship with her several times forcibly. Even, they had terrorized her not to disclose the matter to anybody.
When the family members of the victim informed the matter to the family members of one accused and requested them to solemnize a marriage of the two, the latter got irritated and threatened of dire consequences.
Though several meetings were held in the village to sort out the matter, yet the victim’s family failed to get justice. Consequently, the victim’s father on Sunday lodged an FIR at the Pattamundai police station.
