The Paradip Port Trust (PPT) has created an all-time record by handling a total of 71 million tonnes of cargo in the financial year 2014-15.This achievement has surpassed the port’s earlier highest figure of cargo handling quantity of 68 million tonnes handled in the previous financial year of 2013-14.
The major cargoes handled through the port were thermal coal, crude oil, coking coal, steam coal, limestone, etc.In the financial year of 2014-15, the port carried out as many as 2,961 shipping movements which is also an all-time record. The port management has congratulated its employees, port users, stakeholders and trade unions for this impressive achievement.
