PNS

Giving one-month ultimatum to the absconding criminal associates of arrested Dhalsamnat brothers, the Commissionerate Police decided to move courts praying arrest warrants against 15 persons suspected to be involved in the criminal activities of arrested gangster siblings.

Commissioner of Police (CP) YB Khurania said, “We will appeal to the concerned courts to issue arrest warrants against 15 persons. These people will be given one month’s time to depose. If they fail to do so, they would be declared absconders.”

He said the concerned IICs have been asked to take necessary measures in this regard. The CP further added that if needed the properties of the absconders would be sized.

Meanwhile, the Cuttack Sadar police on Wednesday arrested one Sangram Patra from Gangeswar village under Cuttack Sadar police station and there was no confirmation from the police as to whether Patra had any criminal links with the arrested mafia Dhalsamant brothers.

Police sources, however, confirmed that Patra was dealing with illegal arms trade in the city and in its vicinity. It was also revealed that Patra was earlier booked in at least eight cases registered in several police stations of the city but status of these cases could not be ascertained immediately.
