A case has come to the fore where a local man has reportedly undertaken construction work on a disputed land with support of police.
“While the SDM court has asked the Puri Town police to inquire and submit a report as to whether there is breach of peace or not over use of a disputed land at Mochi Sahi, the opposite party has started construction” alleged Sukumar Ganguly, who had once his Puri Electro Photo Studio on the land. Ganguly, a senior citizen, further alleged that the town police have remained silent over the construction work even though the court has asked it to maintain status quo on the land till December 10, 2014. Ganguly said the opposite party had on December 28, 2008 looted his studio while he was detained for 3 hours in the police station by the then IIC Rajkishore Paikaroy.
