CMD of controversial non-banking financial institution Artha Tatwa (AT) Group Pradip Sethi, who was arrested on May 12 for cheating investors, was taken on another four-day remand by the Commissionerate Police from Wednesday for more interrogation.

Sethi had earlier been taken on police remand from May 18 to 22 after his arrest. The police on Wednesday produced him before court and sought four more days for further interrogation.

During the last interrogation, Sethi had revealed that he has collected around Rs 300 crore from the investors.

The police seized the important files and original documents of 207 acres of land owned by the company situated at Khurda, Bhubaneswar, Baleswar, Bhadrak, Sambalpur and a few other places in the State, said Bhubaneswar DCP Nitinjit Singh.

During the extended remand period, the police would interrogate Sethi about his company’s modus operandi and investment sources.

The police may ask the AT Group chief on involvement of certain politicians and other influential persons who had helped him protecting his illegal business, sources said.
