A complaint has been filed against the Odisha Assembly Speaker, the Chief Minister and some BJD MlAs at the Capital police station here on Thursday demanding action them for disrespecting the National Anthem on the opening day of the Monsoon Session of the Assembly on Wednesday.
The complaint was lodged by the Kalinga Sena, a political outfit.
It demanded that action be taken against the BJD MlAs who shouted slogans during the play of the National Anthem in the presence of party supremo and Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik and Speaker Niranjan Pujari.
On Wednesday, BJD MlAs led by Byomakesh Ray raised slogan against the Centre when the National Anthem was being played in the House marking the beginning of the Monsoon Session. Ray was supported by some other BJD members even though senior members prevented them from doing so while the anthem was on.
“We seek action against the MlAs for disrespecting the National Anthem and action against the CM for not apololising to people for the shameful act or acting against the errant lawmakers,” said Sena supremo Hemat Rath.
