The Commissionerate Police on Wednesday issued lookout circulars (lOCs) against the two accused directors of Panda Infra Projects Private limited, who are on the run after the Bomikhal flyover collapse here on Sunday, in which a person died while 15 others were injured.
Commissioner of Police YB Khurania said, “Today, lookout circulars have been issued against the two absconding directors of Panda Infra, Santosh Kumar Panda and Sujata Panda. Our investigation into the case is on.”
“The two persons against whom the lOCs have been issued are in the company’s Board of Directors, for which their involvement in the case arises.
They are yet to appear before police and clear their positions.”
Khurania made it clear, “Following the issuance of lookout circulars, the two directors can’t leave the country. All the security agencies and airports have been informed.”
Notably, Panda Infra MD Pratap Panda has already surrendered before the police. He was arrested and later sent to jail after his bail plea was rejected by the court on Tuesday.
Meanwhile, Roads and Buildings (R&B) Department Executive Engineer Dukhabandhu Behera on Wednesday moved the Orissa High Court for anticipatory bail, fearing arrest in the case.
In a related development, a PIl was filed in the High Court by activist Surendra Panigrahi over the flyover collapse incident. The Chief Secretary, the Khordha district Collector, the Works Secretary and many others have been made opposite parties. The petitioner has argued that the family of the deceased person and the injured should be given more compensation and the licence of the contractor should be annulled.
