Upset over the lackadaisical attitude of the State Government and the Odisha State Police Housing and Welfare Corporation (OSPH&WC) in reglularising their jobs, 88 ad hoc employees of the corporation on Thursday resorted to an indefinite agitation in front of their office.
Wearing black badges the employees under the banner of the Odisha State Police Housing and Welfare Corporation Employees’ Union alleged that though the then OSPH&WC CMD during their strike in November 17 had assured them to consider their demand shortly, nothing tangible has happened as yet. “During the OSPH&WC Board meeting held on September 22, the then CMD assured us to take steps on our issues within 15 days after placing our demands before the screening committee, but the same was not discussed by the committee. When we met the authorities on December 17, they assured us to wait for just three days, but to no avail,” rued the union’s general secretary.
