Intensifying their investigation into the murder of Seaways Group general manager Mahendra Swain, the Jagatsinghpur district police sealed the bank account of Mahimananda Mishra-owned Odisha Stevedores limited (OSl) in the Bank of India after conducting a raid at the firm’s office here on Thursday.

Besides, the personal accounts of OSl executive director Basant Bal, operation manager Subash Acharya and senior manager Debi Tripathy were also sealed. The police also conducted a raid at the residence of Bal.

Notably, lookout Circulars have been issued against Mahimananda Mishra and two others who have been named in the FIR pertaining to Mahendra Swain’s murder. The FIR has been lodged by Swain’s brother.

It may be recalled that on October 26, miscreants had opened fire at Swain near the Ambedkar Bhawan at Madhuban Colony in Paradip. The two miscreants had initially hurled crude hand bombs at the SUV by which Swain was travelling to his stevedore company office. While Swain was fleeing to save himself after alighting from the vehicle, the miscreants fired two rounds at him leading to his death.
