The Commissionerate police (CP) on Friday announced filing of chargesheet in the case of sexual exploitation of a minor girl by Ollywood comedian Tatwa Prakash Satapathy alias Papu Pompom.
The police said the chargesheet was filed after the allegations against the actor were found to be true. Similarly, a Special Public Prosecutor (PP) would also be appointed to handle the case.
Police Commissioner YB Khurania said the allegations of sexual exploitation of a minor girl, against the actor has merit. During its investigation police have found strong evidence in support of the allegations and hence filed the chargesheet.
Police have decided to speed up the trial process against Pappu and soon a Special PP would be appointed to handle the case, said Khurania.
Notably, a 17-year-old girl levelled molestation allegations against Pappu in June, 02016. The allegations were found true after a probe by the Khurda district Child Welfare Committee (CWC). Pappu was arrested on June 30 along with a friend Pradipta Swain alias Gitu from an apartment in Puri. The actor is currently on bail.
