The Manav Adhikar Surakshya Manch on Thursday sent a memorandum to Prime Minister Narendra Modi urging him to provide petrol, diesel and gas to people at reasonable prices and include the Brahmapur railway station in the National Station Improvement Programme (NSIP) at the earliest.

The memorandum sent through the Revenue Divisional Commissioner (RDC), Southern Division slammed that the prices of fuels are on the rise since the BJP-led NDA Government came to power in 2014.

“People of the country are being looted of with imposition of higher taxes on fuels and giving of benefits to private companies. These should be stopped and people should be given petrol, diesel and gas at appropriate prices,” read the memorandum.

Besides demanding inclusion of Bramapur station in the NSIP, the Manch demanded early connectivity from Brahamapur to Aska, Kandhamal and Sambalpur. Similarly, it demanded establishment of wagon factory at Sitalpali for which Rs 1,000 had been approved earlier and introduction of a direct express train between Brahmapur to New Delhi.
