Preparations are in final stages for Prime Minister Narendra Modi's scheduled visit to Jeypore on March 29.

Modi is slated to address an election campaign meeting at Bankabija under the Jeypore Sadar police limits.

The place of meeting is being supervised by the Special Protection Group (SPG) while security in Jeypore has also been tightened ahead of the PM’s visit. All the senior officials of the district and nearby districts have been deployed for the smooth management of the programme.

In a Press conference on Wednesday, BJP State secretary Dhiren Satpathy along with State executive member Debendra Bahinipati, district president Bhabani Shankar Mishra and district media cell in-charge Sabit Mohapatra said Modi is scheduled to reach Jeypore town at around 9.30 am.

Satpathy said people of the area are having a lot of excitement to see the PM; so special arrangement from the BJP has been made.

“As we are expecting a gathering of more than 1 lakh people, we are focusing on proper facility of water and food,” he added.

Meanwhile, PM Modi’s visit to Kalahandi has been rescheduled for April 2 instead of April 1 as announced earlier.
