Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday greeted mountaineer Yogabyas Sahu of Kalahandi district at the Prime Minister’s office in New Delhi and wished him to achieve bigger successes by climbing higher mountain peaks.
Sahu, a native of Rupra village under the Kesinga Police Station in Kalahandi district, had brought laurels to the country by climbing the Everest in 2011. He has also climbed five mountain peaks in five continents. Now, he is planning to climb two other peaks, informed Petroleum and Natural Gas Minister Dharmedra Pradhan. The Minister was also present at the felicitation meeting at the PMO office. Sahu has made a record by climbing 4684-metre-high Castach Pyramid in Australia without taking oxygen bag. Sahu told the Prime Minister that he has an aim to climb 14 mountain peaks of more than 8,000-meter heights.
