Plus II paper evaluation hit for 3rd day in State

Evaluation of Plus Two answer-sheets was hit for the third day on Wednesday as the agitating Block Grant teachers defied the Council of Higher Secondary Education (CHSE)’s 24-hour ultimatum and didn’t turn up to the evaluation centres, rather deciding to continue their cease-work until their demands are met.

The CSHE had on Tuesday, giving an ultimatum, appealed to the teachers to join the evaluation process by Wednesday.

CHSE Chairman Basudev Chhatoi had told reporters here that the council would make alternative arrangements if the teachers didn’t join evaluation within 24 hours.

As the teachers didn’t reciprocate, Chhatoi said Officers on Special Duty (OSDs) of all Government, Autonomous and Degree colleges and three new universities, Rama Devi Women’s, Khallikote and the GM have already been requested to send teachers to nearby evaluation centres. However, he couldn’t make it clear whether evaluation would continue from Thursday. According to him, only 20 per cent (1,400) teachers of a total required number of 7,000 too joined duty on Wednesday.  With this, students and their parents are apprehensive of fair marking and timely publication of results.

“We are not sure whether the results will be published in time. Both teachers and the Government should be serious about our future,” s3aid a student, adding that if Plus II teachers don’t evaluate answer-sheets, students cannot be awarded right marks.
