Though the station master gets him admitted to an Ashram school, forgetting the platform is not possible on his part. He returns to the platform and charms the people with his flute. Sushama Devi, a patient, falls in love with Kanhu's flute. Their mother-son relationship is named illicitly. Sushama Devi against her wish leaves the platform promising Kanhu that she will return. When Kanhu realises she would never come, he commits suicide. His suicide note reads one mother leaves him at the platform without any promise. Another mother promises her return but doesn't come.
