The district administration of Nuapada organised a Right to Information (RTI) workshop on Friday. The participants were the Public Information Officers (PIO) of different public authorities departments, elected panchayat representatives, media persons, lawyers and senior citizens of the district.
“The objective of the workshop is to create awareness among the participants on RTI Act,” said DRDA Project Director
Pradip Naik.
Advocate Abani Patra and RTI activist of national repute Chakradhar Pruseth were the speakers on this occasion, who spoke in details about the practical aspects of the implementation of the RTI law.
The PIOs should give more stress on pro-active disclosure of information. They should act in such a manner that an applicant gets the information immediately instead of going for appeal, the speakers said. District Public Relations Officer Durga Charan Naik gave vote of thanks.
