The Vigilance police on Sunday arrested Phulbani Municipality Executive Officer (EO) Radhamohan Behera on the charge of acquisition and possession of property disproportionate to his known sources of income.
Separate Vigilance teams had conducted the raids simultaneously at five places, including Behera’s residential Government quarter at Masterpada in Phulbani, office chamber inside Phulbani Municipality, triple- storied building at Jayadurga Nagar in Brahmapur, house of relatives at Turubudi and house of his associate inside Phulbani Municipality on June 28.
He was found in possession of assets worth Rs 1, 20, 30,945 in his and his family members name and was arrested. Behera was forwarded to the Court of Special Judge Vigilance, Phulbani on Monday and was sent to judicial custody till July 15.
