The Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) would no longer have a jumbo team; rather it would be a small one, said PCC president Niranjan Patnaik here on Wednesday.
“The PCC will comprise a small team and will be formed in consultation with AICC secretary and Odisha in-charge Jitendra Singh,” Patnaik said to mediapersons. Asked about the party’ reorganisation, the OPCC president said the District Congress Committees would be formed by May 15.
The PCC working presidents are on tour to all the districts. Efforts are on to strengthen the party base in the areas where its influence is poor and then the party would prepare its manifesto taking the opinion of common people, he informed. Reacting over the Mahanadi issue, Patnaik said the Congress would attend the all-party meeting on the issue at Sambalpur on May 4.
Meanwhile, party working president Chiranjib Biswal, who addressed a large gathering of party workers at Bhadrak on Wednesday, said henceforth no indiscipline in the party would be tolerated.
Similarly, working president Naba Das in an interaction with party workers at Dhenkanal said tickets would be given to those who can get votes for the party.
