Incumbent MP Dr Prasanna Patsani still looks to be a frontrunner in the BJD for the Bhubaneswar Parliamentary seat in view of voluntarily-retired bureaucrat Aparajita Sarangi fielded by the BJP, according to some political observers.
While many names of the BJD are doing rounds for the prestigious LS seat, five-time MP Patasani, in view of his popularity and experience, could be the last hope for the ruling party to retain the seat, feel observers.
“None but Patasani can match the waxing popularity and the preparedness of Sarangi in the ensuing election fray,” opined they.
Tea stall vendors, auto-rickshaw pullers and common people are also of the view that the Baba with his magic wand in hand can give a tough fight to the BJP nominee, Sarangi. Otherwise, the bureaucrat with the winsome personality might have a cakewalk to the victory post.
