In a novel and praiseworthy move, the Sambalpur district administration in association with the Rotary Club and some philanthropic persons have adopted 75 meritorious and economically week students from different schools to shape their career in a better way.

The district administration has started ‘Sahayoga’ to provide support to such students. “The objective behind the Sahayoga is to provide financial security to meritorious students for their higher education,” said district Collector Samarth Verma.

Some senior administrators, businessmen and others have also come forward to extend helping hands to these students and make the programme successful. They have adopted 75 students of Government schools of the town and expressed their commitment for their academic pursuits through the programme ‘Sahayaog’.

“Adopters will deposit an amount of Rs 500 in the bank account of each concerned student every month,” informed Verma.

The adopters will also guide the students how to lead a peaceful and successful life based on ethics in future and serve the nation in their respective fields.
