Patients at the Neurology outdoor of the SCB Medical College Hospital in Cuttack faced difficulties on Tuesday as police did not allow them to reach doctors because of dreaded criminal Hyder’ presence there.
According to reports, Hyder was brought to the outdoor for health check-up amidst tight security. Armed security forces debarred the patients, including serious and elderly ones, from entering the doctors’ cabin for consultation even though they had stood in a queue for hours together. Hyder, who was brought from Jharpada Special jail in Bhubaneswar, remained in the doctor’s cabin for nearly half an hour while forces were guarding near the door.
“I brought my father with a complaint of brain stoke last night for a checkup. When I tried to enter the Numerology professor’s cabin after obtaining a ticket, the armed police and hospital security personnel asked me to come after half an hour,” said a young man who hails from Jajpur district. He said he was forced to shift his father to a private hospital in the city.
Meanwhile, some of the patients demanded that separate arrangements should be made for treatment of infamous criminals.
