Parents allege doc apathy for newborn in S'garh

PNS

Parents  of  a  newborn male  child  of  Sundargarh  have alleged  that  due  to the  negligence  of a  doctor  at  Sundargarh District Headquarters  Hospital,  their  child  is  now battling  for life. He is suffering from Meconium Aspiration Syndrome having respiratory problem.

Sources  said Sarita  Guru,  a  resident  of  Sundargarh,  had  been admitted   in the Sundargarh  DHH on  February  9  for  her  delivery.

After  checking  her,  a  male  Obstretician and Gynaecologist, identified  as Dr PM Bhitria,  who  was  on duty  on the  day,  had done ultrasound  test  and  told  that  she was  fine.  But  since Sarita   was  feeling  pain  in  her   belly, she  had  categorically told  the doctor   to  check her properly.

The  doctor prescribed  a medicine  to  Sarita  and  told  that  he  would see  her  the next day.

The  next  day morning,  when  doctor  Bhitria was  coming  out of  operation  theatre after conducting  an  operation,  one cousin of  Sarita  told  him  that   Sarita  was  not  feeling  well  and was  reeling under great  pain. But the doctor paid no heed.
