The Kalinga Baliyatra’s valedictory ceremony was held on Monday. Attending as chief guest, Excise and Cooperation Minister Dr Damodar Rout laid foundation-stone for two urban development projects, a Kalyani Mandap and a Chandan Pokhari near the Jagannath temple.
Urban Development Minister Puspendra Singh Deo, Paradip Municipality Chairman Basanta Kumar Biswal, Vice Chairperson Pravati Nayak, Municipality Executive Officer Dilip Kumar Mohanty, PPT Vice-Chairman N Bhayapuri were present as guests.
Guests said about the historic glorious ancient story of Kalinga and its daring marine trade. Modern youths should be traders like Kalinga, they added. Jagatsinghpur Collector Bijay Ketan Upadhaya presided over the meeting. Paradip ADM Ramkrushna Sahoo gave welcome address.
Kujanga Tehsildar Basudev Sathapathy gave vote of thanks.
