The State Government is only constructing new buildings one after another spending crores of rupees, but without required infrastructure in terms of doctors, technicians, healthcare equipment, said an insider of the MKCG, who did not wish to be identified. Citing an example, a doctor said that though the Government has newly-constructed a four storied building for the library, but there are no staff members to provide service. According to another official, in most of the new buildings, the Government has fixed air conditioners but they are yet to start functioning. Hence there is a demand to make all the newly constructed buildings including the library functional.
There is a demand from the students and medical researchers to post sufficient number of library trained professionals such as Assistant librarians, Documentation Officers, and Digital library Officers and introduction of RFID technology and an Institutional Repository with Online Public Access Catalogue (OPAC) for benefit of the students and faculty members.
