like earlier years, the State Government has decided to hold Panchayati Raj Divas on Biju Patnaik’s birthday on March 5 this year with a theme Gaonra Bikash-Odishara Bikash, an official release informed.
Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik would attend as chief guest at the State-level programme to be held at the Jaydev Bhavan here. A photo exhibition has been planned for the proposed occasion. Best gram panchayats would be felicitated on this occasion.
Besides, the proposed day would also be observed at district-level across the State. All district Collectors and ZP Executive Officers have been asked to observe the day appropriately. The district-level functions would be attended by Ministers, MPs and MlAs as guests. Besides, all elected PRI representatives from the level of Sarapanch to ZP president would be invited to their respective district-level programmes, informed the release.
