Pallahara Congress campaigning committee chairman Raghunandan Acharya has resigned from the party. He sent his resignation letter to PCC president Niranjan Patnaik on Tuesday.
Acharya alleged that Patnaik had selected unworthy candidates for which they were defeated in the elections.
They were not even in the race, he added. He also alleged that Pallahara Assembly seat Congress candidate Subrat Garnayak became inactive four days before the polls and didn’t contact party workers.
Acharya was a local Congress leader for the last 39 years. His resignation has immensely disappointed party workers in the area.
