'Over 85l youths jobless in State'

PNS

The BJP on Thursday came down heavily on the State Government alleging that it has failed providing jobs to more than 85 lakh youths, including 19.9 lakh highly-qualified ones, in the State.

“The unemployment rate in the State during the first three months of 2018 has risen by  6.77 per cent against 4.7 per cent during the last quarter (October-December) of 2017, which is matter of concern,” said party spokesperson Golakh Prasad Mahapatra.

He said Odisha ranks 7th among the top 10 major States in the country with high unemployment rate in the first quarter of 2018 as per the Centre for Monitoring Indian Economy (CMIE) and Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE).

He alleged that due to the State Government’s anti-industry policies and exploitation attitude towards investing companies have led to the unemployment of lakhs of youths in the State.
