Less than a week after the mishap involving an OSRTC bus near Digapahandi in Ganjam district, in which 12 people were killed, another OSRTC bus carrying passengers met with an accident in Sambalpur district on Saturday.
At least eight people, including driver of the Odisha State Road Transport Corporation (OSRTC) bus, were injured, of which five were stated to be in critical conditions. The critically-injured persons were admitted to the VIMSAR in Burla.
According to reports, the bus from Keonjhar to Balangir hit a stationary truck at a bypass road under the Jamankira police limits. Although the passengers escaped safely, eight p0ersons sustained injuries in the accident.
The Jamankira police reached the spot and initiated an investigation.
