Justice Shatrughna Pujari of the Orissa High Court on Wednesday quashed trial court proceedings against Junagarh MLA and Minister Dibya Shankar Mishra in connection with a false poll affidavit case.
Alleging that Mishra hid information about his property at Raipur in Chhattisgarh in his poll affidavit during 2014 elections, RTI activist Govardhan Das had lodged a case in Junagarh JMFC court, which took cognizance of case. Challenging JMFC court’s directive, Mishra moved HC.
In his petition, Mishra stated that he had sold his property in Raipur on March 19, 2014 after getting an NOC from Chhattisgarh Housing Board Estate Office. Hence, he did not mention about this property in poll affidavit filed on March 21, 2014.
