'Open special cell for border protection'

PNS

The Utkal Sammilani on Wednesday demanded that the State Cabinet, scheduled to meet on June 21, take a decision to constitute a special cell in the Revenue Department for protection of Odisha’s border areas along neigbouring States.

“Andhra Pradesh leaders and administrations are often trespassing into the Kotia group of villages and have recently supplied electricity to the area. The Chhattisgarh Government has forcibly grabbed Odisha lands and distributed them among their poor people. Similarly, the West Bengal Government is trying to take Shankhamedi village and Udayapur coast to its fold.

Hence, a special cell is needed to be opened to look into and resolve these issues,” demanded Utkal Sammilani Mancheswar Industrial Estate Branch president Dillip Dashsharma in a statement.

Dashsharma said if necessary, special policies should be adopted by Odisha for protection of its borders.
