Teenaged boy Gopinath Bhoi died and four other persons Shantilata Bhoi, laxmipriya Bhoi, Banamali Bhoi and Praffula Bhoi, all farm labourers from Manitri village under Biridi block in Jagatsinghpur district, sustained injuries after lightning struck them at a paddy field on Friday afternoon.
The injured were rushed to the District Headquarters Hospital for treatment.
In another lightning incident at Kendal village, one Babu Sahoo was injured and shifted to the SCB Medical College Hospital in Cuttack for treatment.
