An old man from Odisha was rescued by Noida police with the help of another Odia who was living in a temple after being deserted by his son at Gijhore Gate in Noida.
At the twilight of age, the ill fated man, who has lost his memory power, failed to give his detailed identification and address. If anyone asked him about his identity, he was taking the name of his son and that his house was in Cuttack district.
One Basant Tripathy, a resident of Mahu village under Aul police station, who is working in Noida, came across the ill fated man at a Noida-based temple on Saturday. When Tripathy asked the man about his son, he informed that his son told him to wait there, promising to return soon.
He said with a choked voice that as his son did not return he took shelter at a temple in Noida for three days and was provided biscuits and blankets by the temple committee.
Tripathy later informed the Sector 24 police station of Noida and later the old man was rescued. He was sent to Delhi based old-age home “Apna Ghar”. Tripathy requested the Odia people living in Delhi to contact him on his mobile number 9958445327/ 9717647064 if any one of them could identify the old man.
