Superintending Engineer of Irrigation Department Gyana Ranjan Mohanty, Executive Engineer Gagan Kumar Biswal and Assistant Engineer Biswamohan Baral recently visited the under-construction 44.80-km-long Rupadeipur-Sarangjodi canal embankment in Puri district and took stock of the construction work’s progress. While `7.83 crore has been sanctioned for the project, OCC limited has been assigned to execute the work. Nearly 50,000 people of 50 gram panchyats would be benefited once the construction of embankment is completed, sources said.
