Members of the Hindu Jagran Manch on Saturday carried out a motorcycle rally from Brajrajnagar to the Belpahar police station demanding action against a Belpahar youth, who posted derogatory comments on the Facebook on Hindu gods and goddesses.
The protestors said though they had earlier lodged a written complaint with the police to arrest the accused, but action taken till the day.
Earlier, the activists had also gherao the police station. IIC Rasmita Mehra spoke to the protestors and assured them to take action against the accused within 48 hours. SP AK Mohanty informed that the accused has posted derogatory comments from fake IDs and would be nabbed soon.
The protestors threatened to expedite agitation if the culprit is not arrested within 48 hours. The accused belongs to a minority community.
